Provider

Providers of learning materials can be distinguished in Edurep using various metadata:

Authors can exist within multiple publishers, and publishers can exist within multiple repositories.

Searching only within specific repositories ignores potentially useful learning materials from other providers. Also, the selection must be continuously reviewed and adjusted as new providers appear in Edurep (or old ones are removed). It is recommended that you search directly for educational content, and not through a "provider proxy".

Learning Resource Type

Material type is a broad concept and can be searched using (a combination of) different fields:

In many cases, records with mime type image/* (images) will be metadata with aggregation level 1 (usable in all situations). However, there may be images created for specific contexts of use (e.g. process flowchart).

Quality

The perceived quality of learning material is certainly not objective and it is therefore difficult to search for material that meets certain quality requirements. Some learning materials have been evaluated with "social metadata" through various portals. Aggregate social metadata is an additional feature of learning materials in Edurep, and can be used for searching.
